Special Precautions for Brown Skin

Invasive Treatments like Cosmetic Surgery, Face-lifts, Dermabrasion to correct skin problems has inherent limitations as Brown Skin scars easily and develops uneven pigmentation after surgery or laser treatments. Hence these Western procedures are not recommended for treatment of brown skin.
Mild Alpha Hydorxy Acid from Natural sources are used for exfoliation and for correcting uneven pigmentation and subduing over active oil glands.

Rules for Dry Brown Skin:
• Use Olive Oil if you are not Acne prone.
• Drink 8 to 10 glasses of water.
• Use Coconut Oil as a sunblock.
• Use oil based foundations, blusher and powders. Oil based hydrating nourishing and moisturizing creams or cream-powder blushers because they will make your skin look dewy; powder blushers will attenuate line and wrinkles.

• Use a mild soap-free liquid cleanser or superfatted cleansing bar to wash your face at night. In the morning just splash your face with warm water.
• Select moisturizer formulated with Natural Gels made from Aloe and / or Cucumber which delay moisture loss, preventing further dryness
• Apply a Natural Moisturizer Gel when your face and body are still damp so that you "lock in" the moisture.
• Use oil-based foundations and creams or cream-powder blushers - the oil they contain will help soften fine lines and wrinkles.

• Ever wash your face with harsh soap.
• Use grainy cleansing products or buffing pads
• Forget to apply sunscreen to your face, neck and chest every day.
• Use moisturizer with chemicals like glycerin, hyaluronic acid or dimethicone

Rules for Oily Brown Skin:
• Cleanse your face twice a day - in the morning and before bed - with a mild liquid cleanser formulated for oily skin.
• Use astringents no more than once a day. Better yet, don't use them at all.
• Choose an oil-free or oil-in-water moisturizer if you feel you need to use a moisturizer
• Use oil-free or oil-blotting foundation and powder and powder blusher to stop oily shine and head off breakouts
• Use an oil free sunscreen every day.

• Over scrub you skin. Oil is your skin's protective barrier
• Cleanse your face more than twice a day - but you may cleanse once more if you work out
• Develop an astringent addiction
• Use moisturizer if you don't need it

• Keep slapping on powder to mop up oil - your skin will look chalky

Rules for Combination Skin:

• Choose cleansers formulated for combination skin; they're gentle on dry areas, such as the cheeks, and tougher on oily cheeks, nose, and chin.

• Apply Moisturizer made from a base of Aloe Vera Gel only where you need it, but slathering it on your T-zone may lead to breakouts

• Use water-based or oil-free foundations

• Use a different cleanser or moisturizer for different parts of your face - it's a waste of time and money

• Forget to use a sunscreen every day. Use a product formulated without oil, if you like.
